Recommended Reading

While I would love for you to buy and enjoy my books, there are many other great authors to enjoy as well. Here you will find a selection of books that I have enjoyed or would recommend. I will be adding more as time goes on and as I get to more titles on my TBR (To Be Read) List. - I do believe you will enjoy each of these titles, but I will also tell you I may receive a commission if you purchase through these links. The links will direct you to the Amazon.com site, or you can visit it directly.

A Throne of Glass, by Sarah J. Maas - this is her first fantasy series and contains some 5000+ pages.  Ms. Maas is an exceptional author, and I highly recommend her novels.

Stephen King is another of my favorite authors. In his story "Fairy Tale" he crafts a very unique world cursed by an evil lord. Only a young boy and his dog can save them from the horrors and torment.

The classic fantasy collection of J.R.R. Tolkien. This collection contains all three of the Lord of the Rings novels, plus a Lord of the Rings: A Reader's Companion. If you enjoy fantasy novels, the works of Tolkien are almost required reading.

A Court of Thorns and Roses, another series by Sarah J. Maas. This series is truly amazing. Set in a Fae world, Maas does a magnificent job of world-building, character development, and action. With plenty of twists, turns and cliff hangers, it will keep you reading well past your bedtime. It has a strong romance theme and some of the books, especially the last one, is a bit spicy. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fantasy or just a good story.

The Echo of Old Books, by Barbara Davis. This is not your standard fantasy novel, but it is a highly enjoyable read and well worth putting on your want list. I debated buying this book for some time, but I was very pleased with how well it worked out.

Alright, if you have not noticed yet, I am a huge Sarah J. Maas fan. Her work is fun, engaging, and unique. The Crescent City series, currently comprising three books, is another excellent read from this talented author. I must say they are some massive books, so don't expect to get through them quickly, but I believe you will find them well worth your time.

Book #2 - House of Sky and Breath

Book #3 House of Flame and Shadow

The Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros - Dragon riders, war collage, fantastic world building, this book has it all. This is the first book in the series. There are currently three books in the series, with at least a fourth planned.

Book #4 - TBA

George R. R. Martin - A Game of Thrones - 5 Book Set. These books were the inspiration for the amazingly popular TV Series "Game of Thrones". If you have only seen the television series, perhaps it is time you read the stories in the detail the author intended.

From Lindsay Straube - Kiss of the Basilisk Readers call it "feral, spicy, and unforgettably bold." For fans of morally grey monsters, slow-burn fantasy romance, and stories that subvert the fairytale script.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown. This is Book One in the series. It has received high praise from readers and critics alike, and it is well deserved. Critics are comparing it to "The Hunger Games", among others. While it is compared to some of the greats in the fantasy world, it remains unique and bold.
