Blood on the Wand 'Prelude to War' They thought they had buried the magic. They only buried the fuse. Forty years ago, the Benuk family was slaughtered in a night of fire and steel, a purge sanctioned by a fearful King and enforced by the fanatical Cloaken Monks. But amidst the ashes, a child was born in blood, saved by a witch, and hidden away to nurse a singular, burning purpose: Revenge. Now, Lord Bryce has returned to Manor Valley. He wears the face of a nobleman, but he carries the scar of a killing curse and the raw, terrifying power of his ancestors. He isn't just here to reclaim his title; he is here to awaken the ghosts of the past. He isn't the only one drawn to the Valley's secrets. While Bryce plots in the shadows, two scholars arrive to investigate whispers of the forbidden arts. What they find is a conspiracy far darker than a few rogue spells. From the construction of horrifying magical artifacts to the burning of ancient forests, the Lords of the Va...

There is a new addition to the world of the Third Kingdom. My novella “The Fall of the Decapolis” is now available on Amazon in paperback, eBook and Audio versions. It is also available through Kindle Unlimited. This story was originally meant to be a simple companion to Blood on the Wand: Prelude to War , which will be released soon, but Fall of the Decapolis quickly evolved into its own very unique and compelling story. In Prelude to War , I write about the Forest of Memories and the once-great Decapolis. These same legends appear in the Conqueror Series , most notably in The King’s Final Decree and The Final Demand . I soon realized that this novella, short as it is, serves as an expansion for the lore of both series, placing it squarely in the middle of Third Kingdom history. The story records events from more than two thousand years in the past, yet it is written to stand entirely on its own. Whether this is your first venture in my world or your tenth, you can jump righ...

The Third Kingdom is home to a number of magical people and creatures. The basic principles of magic apply to all, but each has its own limitations and abilities. Some terms are the result of bias and discrimination, both within the magical world and the general population. The terms used for each type of magical person can help identify their powers, limitations, and can say something about their background and approach to magic.   A Sorcerer (male) and a Sorceress (female) have a natural magical power that will generally reveal itself to the person very early on, usually before the age of ten. These men and women are considered the more powerful of the magical folk since their powers flow more freely. Even though their powers present themselves naturally, without effort, they must work at improving their skills. While both men and women have the same abilities, Sorcerers are generally considered to be more powerful. This is simply because the average man is physically stronge...

Hello avid readers, I wanted to give you an update on two new releases that will be coming soon. The first has been a very long time in the making. If you have read any of the Third Kingdom novels, you have certainly seen references to the Wizard Wars. These wars, of which there were two, were a pivotal moment in the Kingdom’s history. I have always planned to write the story of the wars, and in my mind, it has always been a four-book series. I am happy to say that Book One is written and is currently in the process of final edits. “Wizard Wars – Book One: Prelude To War” will kick off the series. Book Two in the series “Hunt for the Dragoness” is outlined and taking shape. Book Three, “Dragon’s Howl Prison,” is also taking shape and progressing well. Book Four, which is planned to wrap up the series, is yet to be titled. I will post the planned release dates as soon as things are firmed up a bit. Currently, I will be working on the Cover artwork for Book One, and the plan i...
